VELAPLAN polyvinyl chloride (PVC) coated polyester fabric is an economical, cost effective alternative to VELAFLON ptfe coated fibre glass for permanent structures but is the ideal fabric solution for temporary structures. VELAPLAN can be used in a tensioned or pneumatic capacity and is particularly suitable for retractable structures due to its highly flexible properties.
Coatings can be tailored to a requested colour, specific flame retardant specification or UV resistance requirement. Life span of this recyclable material is estimated between 15 and 20 years dependent on application and environment and is therefore ideally suited to all types of project requiring a smaller life expectancy from large span sports stadia to exhibition displays and sculptures.
Light translucency can vary from 5% to 35%. As with all VELATEX membranes, dramatic lighting effects are possible externally and internally but the surface also returns evenly diffused light internally allowing reduced energy consumption during use of the structure day or night.
VELAPLAN has an easy clean surface and requires minimal maintenance and is therefore the first choice for an economical short term solution.
